Description
Right now, Midnight Commander only allows to split a panel into two columns in the so-called "brief file list" mode. This is a good feature, but, IMO, it would be a good idea to allow dividing the panel into 3 or more columns.
As a matter of fact, the original Norton Commander used to have a mode with 3 columns. (Of course, on an 80x25 console, it depended on the fact that DOS had 8.3 file names, but in today's era of high-resolution displays, one'd expect that a three-column panel would still be able to display reasonably long file names.)

I hope, 9 columns ought to be enough for anybody. :)
