MC is unable to copy/move files named asd-test.a#a The '-' and the '#' are required to reproduce this bug.
Comment 1 by Leonard den Ottolander <leonardjo> at Mon 14 Nov 2005 05:40:39 PM UTC:
I can reproduce this with 4.6.1a. On the first attempt I see an error "Can't open /dev/fd0: No such device or address Cannot initialize 'A:'". Consequent attempts give me an error "Cannot overwrite directory "path/asd-test.a#a" No such file or directory(2)".

Smells like extfs is mapping #a to "drive A" (/dev/fd0)
see ${DATADIR}/mc/extfs/a
In a way it's not really a bug, but rather a misunderstanding
of filenames between you and mc ;-P
