Description
It is odd to get ugly a la '90 <table> formatting page about MC on gnu.org in first search result form Google.
I hear that some conflicts appear between new and old dev team.
And may be current MC can not be GNU MC in names.
But http://www.gnu.org/s/mc/ page must go out or point to updated useful software instead of deprecated one.
If some difficulties on this way I can contact to gnu.org myself. But expect some instructions to do so...
May be this request/question must be on mail list...

This has never been updated. On GNU website it shows it is old version. It requires refurbishing.

Please feel free to go ahead and engage into a civil conversation with GNU to get the link to redirect to the current home page. We don't have any access to this GNU site, so we can't set it up ourselves.
In addition, there have been concerns from the GNU side as to whether we can remain a GNU project due to the fact that we are using "problematic" services like GitHub and Transifex. Unfortunately, we barely have enough resources to keep mc alive, and I have no time and energy to argue with them, or make changes to our processes to conform to their views (as in, to move to a different code repository, or ditch Transifex, and what not). So I personally see it as zero priority right now, until we get into a luxurious position to be able to spend time on handling that.

I can't say when it happened but now http://www.gnu.org/s/mc/ redirects to https://midnight-commander.org/.
