TestCase?:

  1. open file in editor. For example, with content: 
    1234567890
  2. Press F4 key (replace action) and move cursor to begin of file
  3. Enter '789' in 'Search string' field
  4. Don't touch 'replacement string' field (must be empty)
  5. Select 'Regular expression' radiobutton
  6. Press 'Enter' key
  7. In 'Confirm replace' dialog just press enter
