Description
There is ~2 seconds delay on each press when browsing command history with Alt-P/Alt-N. 4.8.18 worked fine.

As I see, the only patch downstream applied is this https://midnight-commander.org/attachment/ticket/329/mc-tmpdir.patch. Breaks exit to current working directory (mc-wrapper scripts), btw.

Are you using vanilla mc or mc from some distro (probably) with some patches?
