Without knowing a lot of the internal mechanics of mc, I assumed that the {{{panel_field_t.min_size}}} is really a hard min size and never less and this is what I used throughout. ~~Unless someone knows why this underflow really happens~~, I would accept Andrew's offer from comment:91.
