mcrapet, I put your translation to Transifex: https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/mc/language/fr/ because now all internationalized hint-files will be a TARGET, and SOURCE will be placed on Transifex (like po/*.po files).
I hope my changes in the branch will be accepted by other developers and this scheme will be a way for hints translation.
if you want to contribute more translations, you may join to the team on Transifex. As I see, the team looks like die: last activity was in May 2012 (exclude my activity) :( So, you have a chance to coordinate the team.

Not possible right now because the hints file should be converted to the pot format but currently its stored in repo as plain text.
