Description
I would like to have a hotkey to toggle the command prompt inside midnight commander.
The reason for this is because I use the "find as you type" feature, which is only available when the command prompt is hidden.
And when I do need to make use of the command line, it's kind of troublesome going to the configuration and enabling it back...

This is a bad solution IMHO,
since it completely ignores the reason I chose to disabled the command prompt in the first place...
I disabled it on purpose - so I won't have to press Ctrl-s each time I want to quick search, but only have type the letters, so I get "find-as-you-type" feature (from your comment I can only assume you didn't know about this feature?).
Enabling it back just beats the purpose, and having to switch it on and off each time using the configurations is cumbersome.

Replying to iwfmp:
I won't have to press Ctrl-s each time I want to quick search,
But you want to press something else each time to hide command line to use your "find-as-you-type"?

Nope, just once, whenever I need it...
Like using the Alt-. key, to *toggle* the hidden files.

I see a clean solution for this - use the same combo for 'Starting a command', i.e. when command line is disabled giving 'find as you type' feature, quick-search (not needed anymore) transforms to temporary command line; not a toggle, but single-shot (exactly like quick search works with command line enabled).
Use quick search. It is available when the command line is visible.
