rpm extfs doesn't detect modified archive

Within mc, browse the cpio contents of an rpm. These files will be cached.

Now exit the rpm/cpio vfs, and while still in mc (or in another window), cook a new rpm with different contents.

Using mc, re-entering the rpm extfs will still display the wrong/old cached results instead of the proper updated files/contents.

Can a quick check the rpm mtime suffice to invalidate the contents of the previous cpio?
