The reason in the error dialog box is sometimes correct (e.g. ""Permission denied"", ""File exists"" etc.), but often is a literal ""(null)"", or the empty string, or some other garbage (e.g. a previous file name you operated on); followed by the numeric error code. Looks like some serious memory corruption going on, which can potentially lead to other problems (e.g. crash) as well. This is on Mac 10.10.5, I'll try on Linux as soon as I can.
