It's just to question developers about it. If nobody cares, it's fair to wrap it for future releases.

I'll say on behalf of all current developers. Our viewpoint is this: it is necessary for us to make a handy tool with no bugs (as possible). Licensing worries us the lesser, GPLv2 completely satisfied.
And now my speech: personally I don't know how initiate license change procedure. Is need to ask all previous developers and contributors?
In any case, IMHO, at present time not need to change license. This far thinks for 'future releases' milestone :)
If someone don't agree - please, write thinks and arguments here.

jftr, mc is licensed under gplv2+, not gplv2.
and changing the license would require getting an ok from *every* developer who has contributed any non-trivial piece of code (or rewriting that code from scratch).

If mc was licensed under GPLv2 only, then yes, need to ask every contributor.
But mc is licensed under GPLv2+, it implies the consent of all the developers to change the license.
In another words, development's agreement to replace the license number included in the GPL2+ and no need to ask.
